The Official Website of Ringside Wrestling

From the Rat Hole #16 - The Return
Written on Dec 01, 2008 by Ringside Rat

The rat is back after a few months of inactivity, but I’ve got lots to report for you this weekend. First of all, I really love my new digs at the new office in Staten Island. With the recent downsizing of staff, the information hasn’t been coming as frequent as I would like. But I’ve still got some rumors that you can chew on.

First of all, don’t count Myles Jake out just yet. Word is the higher ups are still in contact with him about coming back to Ringside. He may have signed a contract with the WWA, but when has a contract ever stopped anyone? Jake was a big draw for Ringside, and the ratings were definitely affected when he left the company.

John Mark Blackburn’s accident is not a work. He was in a legitimate car accident. He has indeed suffered from a broken leg and collar bone from the accident. He is at home and resting well. He makes hourly calls into the office during business hours. Don’t be too surprised if you don’t see a new face to fill the General Manager position. The Board of Directors hasn’t been looking too hard for a replacement as they watch Blackburn’s wife, Sarah, fill the shoes of head of the company rather well.

Derek Barlow is rumored to be on thin ice with the company, despite the fact of winning the Ringside Championship. Officials have not been impressed with Barlow’s work ethic the past few weeks. Will the Ringside Champion bring back the Ringside Curse or will he change his ways and get back under the good graces of the officials of Ringside Wrestling.

One of the major questions around the locker room and headquarters is “where is William Gwynn?” I, myself, have been trying to find the answer to this question. Gwynn is still an employee of the company because I know for a fact his last paycheck was cashed. One rumor is that Gwynn is under the same contract as Jack Diamond. Diamond who hasn’t been seen on a Ringside broadcast is working under an as-needed contract. Gwynn could possibly be under the same category.

It looks like Austin Andrews is taking his job as Content Manager for the Ringside Wrestling web site very seriously. Andrews always seems to have the web site decorated with some of item representing a holiday or an event. I have also noticed he has improved the “Search” section of the web site.

Many fans were disappointed in the Drinking Games match being cancelled from REVIVAL. The reason the match was cancelled was for multiple reasons. Versus was worried about the consequences of the drinking and how it will affect the opinion of the overall network to the viewers, and Ringside Wrestling couldn’t afford to bring in the two guest commentators that Steven Holt and Hiroshi Ryusaki were requesting. Holt and Ryusaki were really hoping for the match to happen, but apparently, it just wasn’t in the cards.

That’s all I got for now, but keep watching. The rat is back.

Barlow Losing Grip on Reality?
Written on Oct 25, 2008 by News Reporter

Derek Barlow's frequent personal struggles have been well documented over the last several years, and it seems his life has taken another turn for the worse just as things were looking up for the man next in line for a Ringside Title Shot. Derek Barlow's agent has apparently paid off publishers of popular magazine Wrestling Insider in a deal that would prevent an interview with Derek Barlow from being published.

According to reports, the article shows Barlow exhibiting some strange behavior in his interview session, frequently confusing his current promotion for Core Wrestling. He also lashed out at the interviewer, insisting that the cameras be turned off. There were no cameras in the room, according to the source. Derek also insisted that all recordings of his voice be burned after the interview, citing a possibility that his words 'may be heard by someone out to get him'. A phone call to Barlow's agent was not immediately returned.

Sources say, Lanier has been seen around town with a former Maximum Velocity Wrestling superstar. One could argue that Lanier is not planning to come to Tradition alone tonight.

FitzPatrick Seen Backstage at Tradition
Written on Aug 20, 2008 by News Reporter

Fans have been bombarding the press center of Ringside Wrestling today, with many seeing cW Hall of Famer Eugene FitzPatrick entering the Dunkin Donuts Center last night. He turned away fans that ran up to him asking questions about his appearance and left the building at the close of the show. With many former cW wrestlers returning in rW, could it be that he is angling a return to active competition? Or, as was seen with Jason Hughes and Veronica Paige recently, just there to enjoy the show? Nobody was available to comment from Ringside Wrestling, and we'll keep you updated when more information becomes available.

Barlow Frustrated with Blackburn
Written on Aug 07, 2008 by News Reporter

Sources from the locker room are saying Derek Barlow is frustrated about the way he has been booked lately. The sources say that Blackburn is using Barlow to soften up the Main Event guys before they get a shot at William Gwynn. With previous reports of the Coalition fraying, and now with this, things don't look so good for the Coaltion.
