REVIVAL Success: A Must
Written on Nov 02, 2008 by News Reporter
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS - November 2, 2008 – A press conference was held at the conclusion of a staff meeting at the Ringside Headquarters in Boston. John Mark Blackburn met with the Board of Directors, a Versus Network Spokesperson and Investor Spokesperson regarding the current state of Ringside Wrestling. Many of the investors and board members expressed their concern about the dwindling revenues being generated by Ringside’s events and merchandise sales. Others commented about the talent that has been leaving in recent weeks from the ranks of Ringside Wrestling. Blackburn addressed all of their concerns at the meeting and then called for the press conference citing, “the fans need to know.”
“Thank you ladies and gentlemen of the press for coming out here this afternoon,” Blackburn spoke. “As you all know, Ringside Wrestling has been in a bit of a downward spiral as of late. We’ve let the public and the fans knows that the company is struggling in hopes that they would pull through and despite the fact that the crowds have been growing at shows, it’s still not enough. Versus officials have also expressed their concerns about the low and dropping ratings during the Tradition timeslot. It has come down to REVIVAL. If REVIVAL does not meet a certain rating, Versus will be pulling the plug on Ringside Wrestling. We’re not upset with Versus over this decision. On the contrary, we completely understand their reasoning.”
Blackburn stopped for a moment as the spokesperson for the Versus Network took the podium for a brief announcement.
“We want to make it perfectly clear that Versus is not terminating its relationship with Ringside, LLC. We will simply be ending the ‘season’ of Tradition to take some time to evaluate whether the relationship is financially beneficial for both parties. We are hoping for the Ringside product to be successful so that we may continue this relationship.”
The Versus spokesperson stepped aside and the Ringside, LLC Chief Financial Officer, Greg Speck, took the podium next.
“As our fiscal year begins to wind down,” Speck spoke, “we can’t help but notice that Ringside has, for some time, been operating in the ‘red’ so-to-speak. We’ve re-evaluated our finances and have come to the conclusion that is the live events and merchandise sales do not pick up, we could be facing a layoff of some of our highly paid talent. We’ve recently lost Myles Jake because of this. Jake was asking for an amount we just couldn’t afford, therefore, he chose not to re-sign with the company. We’re hoping it doesn’t come to this point, because we’d be losing some very talent wrestlers.”
The CFO stepped aside and Blackburn took the podium for the closing.
“As you can see, the staff is working diligently behind the scenes to do what it can to help Ringside succeed. We’re not going down without a fight. And if for some reason things don’t work out, don’t count us out. We may need to make some cut backs, but we’re going to rebuild.” Ringside Struggling

BOSTON, MA - October 7, 2008 – Attitudes around the headquarters of Ringside have seemed rather bleak the past couple of weeks. Despite previous reports of positive attitudes and hopeful outlooks of success, Ringside Wrestling seems to be heading into a downward spiral with the only destination of being closure. The staff of Ringside is doing everything in their power to avoid that road. John Mark Blackburn is said to be determined to pull Ringside Wrestling out of the current recession. Certain members of the staff, who have always been critics of the move to Versus, are standing by their claim that the move was too soon. Recent situations in Ringside would seem to support that idea, but the majority of the staff remains optimistic.
“What we need,” John Mark Blackburn commented, “is to get some new talent in to this company. Right now we’re visiting training school and wrestling academies looking to sign some new up and coming talent. We’re also looking into getting some developed talent in here that will bring in a fan base.”
Recent turnovers have almost left the talent list of Ringside Wrestling with just a handful of people. Those dedicated to Ringside Wrestling have been working harder than they have ever worked before. They are doing this because of their firm belief in Ringside Wrestling as a company and its staff leadership. A few roster members have taken on other rolls outside of the ring to help Ringside Wrestling succeed.
“We are very grateful,” Blackburn said, “for the dedication of the talent roster to help make Ringside Wrestling succeed. They see that I am doing everything I can to make a successful project and to help this company grow and they have put their faith and trust in my leadership to make this company work and for that I am very appreciative.”
Things at Ringside seem rocky with the recent leavings of Tim Shipley, Mike Wade, and some other names that were becoming building blocks for the company, but you can rest assure that the staff and roster are committed and are doing everything they can to help make the company succeed. If indeed, the company is headed for a downward spiral to closure, you can rest assured that it won’t happen because people didn’t care and gave up. It will happen because despite the best efforts of everyone involved, things just weren’t meant to be. RINGSIDE: On the Move
Written on Sep 27, 2008 by News Reporter
BOSTON, MA - September 27, 2008 – The atmosphere around the Ringside Entertainment, LLC headquarters is boiling over with positivity. Ringside Wrestling has already proved it to be one of the newest hit shows of the fall season. Versus Network is reporting some of the highest ratings this quarter that it has ever seen. Versus has already made plans to increase the advertising of the Ringside product on their programming as well as web presence.
Partnering with Versus has not only been beneficial to the network, but Ringside is in talks with many companies looking into advertising and commercial spots. One company interested into really becoming the major sponsor of Ringside is Royal Crown Cola International (RCI), a division of Cott Beverages. RCI is looking to introduce a new flavor soft drink to their lineup and they feel partnering and sponsoring with Ringside is an excellent way to get their product out there.
Apart from looking into sponsorships, Ringside is looking to increase the value of their Super Card events by partnering with HBO and In-Demand. As of right now, no deal has been struck with either company, but meetings have been taking place to see if a partnership would be beneficial. One of the main concerns brought to the table by Ringside is the current amount of wrestling programs being broadcasted by In-Demand. Ringside wants to pursue an avenue that will be best suited for both parties involved.
As Ringside continues to grow, and ratings continue to increase for Tradition, more and more plans for the company are being instigated. As of right now, Ringside is ironing out its online broadcast of HYPE! as well as a possible Internet Radio Show. Rumor has it; Ringside is also looking to branch out into the overseas market. A European tour has been discussed as well as opening an actual branch of Ringside in Europe. Confirmation has not been given on either of these proposals, but with Ringside already heading to the Southern United States, after a complete tour of the country, Europe is a very strong possibility.
As things change and progress in Ringside, the company, like any other, is encountering many difficulties in operations aspect of the company. No matter what issues arise, the company has been able to pull together and overcome any adversity.
Ringside Wrestling is on the move. If you’ve wanted to get on board with a company that his a bright future, the time is now. |

AC BLOOD
Prior to his debut this week on Tradition, AC Blood let the world know that he has come to Ringside Wrestling and he's going to take the place by storm. Unfortunately, his match ended in a time limit draw, but it set up for a chance to win the Commonwealth Championship at REVIVAL.

"Well, someone certainly cut the introduction budget this week." - Chuck Thompson

Who will win the Ringside Championship at REVIVAL?Derek Barlow
57.1% Mark Knight
42.9%
Total Votes: 7

Who's Hot...
- Myles Jake: The new rW Champion. Nobody thought it would happen, yet now Myles Jake is King of Ringside Wrestling. The problem? Like all new champions, you will either crash and burn or be remembered forever as one of the great successes in fed history. The next few weeks will no doubt play a large role in how Jake's reign is remembered.
- Eugene Fitzpatrick/Hiroshi Ryusaki: This 'team' was also never seen coming, yet over the last couple weeks these two stars have imbedded themselves in the minds of rW viewers. All singles stars should breathe a sigh of relief as these two look to take down W.H.A.T., an imposing champion who has had no challenge thus far.
- Jantz Spalding: His career was over. He was gone and forgotten. Nope. Now he's back and running through the shows of Ringside Wrestling. His feud with Knight has been the silent second-best over the past month and their match made both look better. With a match against Diamond on the horizon, it's make or break time for JS to show not only can he still compete, but he can still be feared.
Who's Not...
- JM Blackburn - William Gwynn - Derek Barlow The Coalition is dead and all its members are suffering as a result. Blackburn is out of a job. Gwynn is no longer champion and may be on edge of a breakdown. Barlow, who looked so good recently, is at that moment in a career where you either move up or forever stay in midcard limbo. The owner and two champions are now the unemployed and two ordinary wrestlers. Did their careers in rW peak as part of the Coalition?
